If you are in the Canaries area you must try Claudia’s Kitchen. You can make a reservation for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Claudia and her mom Roma are friendly and welcoming. Claudia serves local cuisine and adds her own special touch. We had grilled tuna, rice with a dash of curry, dasheen and plantain – all with delicious accompanying sauces. The food is simply delicious. Claudia also prepared freshly squeezed juices from passion fruit and lemon/oranges – so cold and refreshing. We were staying in the apartment nearby and got to know her – one morning she popped over with lovely freshly baked buns. Their home is surrounded by a wonderful garden filled with flowers and many exotic plants.

My friends and I stayed at Story Villa and Claudia made us breakfast and dinner and we were amazed and so happy with how delicious the food was. We had popular local dishes & as she made the food she described what everything was and was so generous and kind. We loved every bite and wish we could eat from her daily! thank you so much for the wonderful experience & we highly recommend you check out her catering whether you’re staying at Story Villa or elsewhere! Thank you again Claudia! Ps that cocoa tea and the coconut rum drink was nothing like I have ever had before, SO GOOD!

Absolute must do! BEST FOOD on the island. This is by far some of the best creole food/ best food I’ve had. WOW the flavors! Claudia was so sweet and really went above and beyond. Her place is beautiful and such a cool experience to go into someone’s home and have a home-cooked meal. The views from her balcony are stunning!!
Now the food: she also brought out a complimentary pumpkin and lentil soup (I think) which was one of the best soups I’ve ever had! We had the mash green banana, fried plantain, and chicken in creole spinach sauce. And the other dish was carrots and garlic rice, fried breadfruit, shrimp in a coconut cream sauce with steamed salad. Everything was incredible and I’m not just saying that.. like I’ve never tasted such incredible flavors. The coconut shrimp and rice were to die for. I don’t even like chicken and that dish was bursting with flavors. I would eat chicken every day if it was made like that. Since I wanted my friend and I to taste everything, she put the food in small containers for us to serve ourselves as we pleased and I LOVED that.
Also It was my friend’s birthday and she put little happy birthday confetti on the table! So cute!! Overall I would recommend this over and over!

Dinner at Claudia’s Kitchen was an unforgettable and lovely experience. We called Claudia up on our second last night in St. Lucia and were sad to learn she was already closed for the day. However, she opened for us the following night, a Saturday, when she is normally closed for business. We were grateful to accept, especially when we arrived on Saturday. Claudia hosts her guests right in her home, which is absolutely beautiful. It is full of countless tropical plants, has a lush garden, and offers an unobstructed, spectacular view of the setting sun over the ocean. She allowed us to roam around and explore as she finished preparing our meals. When our meals arrived, we were completely blown away. For me, she prepared Jack fish in a Creole coconut curry, over a bed of green banana mash, coleslaw with special homemade dressing, fried plantains, and freshly squeezed orange-pineapple lemonade. For my husband, she prepared the same but with chicken. Everything was incredibly delicious. You could tell Claudia prepared and presented each aspect with the utmost care and attention. Claudia is a gracious host, talented chef, and a warm individual. She made our last night in St. Lucia, the very best. We hope to be blessed enough to be able to visit her again and wish her the very best in her ventures. Do yourself a favor if you are visiting St. Lucia and make a reservation at Claudia’s Kitchen!
